Seaside Villa

A distinctive seaside residence inspired by monastic architecture, with a strong connection to the natural landscape. The north façade, facing the road, features limited openings to enhance privacy. A sheltered outdoor space with stone arches and timber flooring leads to the main entrance. Sections of the façade are clad in iroko wood, adding warmth and natural character to the composition.

The south side opens generously towards the sea, making full use of the unobstructed views. The largest opening takes the form of a Roman arch, visually connecting the interior with the coastal surroundings. Outdoor spaces unfold across different levels, featuring stone, marble, and granite in earthy shades. A bespoke solid iroko table holds a prominent place in the design, inspired by a table from a 14th-century monastery in Tuscany. In the barbecue area, a semi-transparent structure featuring a series of marble arches provides a subtle boundary with the neighbouring property.

Inside, the ground floor forms a unified space encompassing the kitchen, dining area, and living room, with flooring that combines three types of marble in earthy tones. Furniture, lighting, and bespoke elements were selected with close attention to detail, while several pieces were designed exclusively for the residence. The kitchen features Italian design and Corian surfaces, while the living room combines oak flooring, handcrafted timber elements, and classical references with a contemporary aesthetic.

The residence balances comfort, elegance, and understated luxury, with wood, stone, and marble defining its architectural identity. With an A+ energy rating, it is designed to minimise energy consumption through underfloor heating, fan coil units, and solar energy, which is stored and subsequently used to meet the home’s heating needs. Architecture, materials, and energy solutions come together in a cohesive design that respects the landscape and expresses the residence’s distinctive character.
