Thassos Hotel

Set among rocky terrain, olive groves, and open views of the Aegean, the hotel establishes a precise geometric presence that responds to the natural contours without imitating them. Clean lines and the building’s horizontal form orient the architecture towards the sea, making the landscape integral to the guest experience.

The composition extends across three levels through distinct rectangular volumes with flat roofs. Projecting upper floors create sheltered areas below, while deep façade frames give the building a strong sculptural quality and control its exposure to sunlight. Large openings and continuous terraces establish a direct visual connection with the sea horizon.

The exterior material palette contrasts textured grey surfaces with white render and dark window frames. Restrained colours allow the building to serve as a neutral frame for the changing natural light, from the clarity of daylight to the warm tones of sunset. Pools, planted areas, and relaxation spaces are arranged in repeating outdoor sections. Low perimeter walls provide the necessary privacy while preserving the connection with the sea, and minimal planting leaves the site’s natural, rocky character visible.

After sunset, linear lighting accentuates the projections, openings, and principal lines of the façades. The building takes on a lighter presence at night, defined by a precise alternation of solid volumes and illuminated recesses.
