Stone Houses

The site’s changes in elevation shape the layout of this hospitality property, making movement between levels an integral part of the outdoor experience. The building sits parallel to the mountain slopes, maintaining a low, elongated profile that integrates naturally into the landscape and preserves a continuous visual connection with the surrounding ridgelines.

Access is from the upper side of the plot, where the parking areas are located. From here, successive stairways and paved paths follow the natural slope towards the lower leisure area.

The main volume extends across two levels and is visually divided into smaller sections by vertical walls clad in natural stone. Large openings and continuous balconies face the pool, establishing a repeated horizontal band along the main façade. Glass balustrades minimise visual obstructions, while roof overhangs and timber shading structures shelter the outdoor thresholds and add depth to the façades. The contrast between solid stone, clean surfaces, and warm timber details creates a balanced material identity.

At the lower level, the pool forms the focal point of the outdoor space, surrounded by sunbathing, seating, and dining areas. Extensive paving provides clear circulation between these different uses. At the edge of the landscaped area, a lightweight timber pergola supported by stone columns creates a sheltered outdoor gathering space, with generous openings that preserve views of the mountains.

Low walls, successive levels, and restrained planting extend the building into its surroundings and reinforce its sense of being firmly grounded in the terrain. The hotel takes on a contemporary character rooted in its setting, with stone, pitched roofs, and a terraced layout connecting the guest experience to the mountain landscape.
