Soft Rustic

The residence unfolds as a low composition with an elevated central section, sensitively integrated into the open landscape. Successive volumes and varying roof levels break down its overall scale, creating a form that recalls the familiar architecture of the Greek countryside without resorting to literal imitation.

The exterior identity is defined by the interplay of three principal materials: warm-toned render, natural stone, and exposed timber. Stone gives expression to the building’s structure and form, cladding solid volumes, columns, and the tall chimney that serves as a vertical focal point. Timber beams, wooden window frames, and varied roof tile colours add depth and warmth, while earthy tones unify the different surfaces.

An expansive covered terrace is the defining feature of the rear elevation. Its timber roof rests on stone masonry columns, creating a deep, sheltered threshold between the residence and the garden. The outdoor area extends across a series of broad, stepped seating levels, expanding the space for gathering and creating a gradual transition to the natural ground. Large openings beneath the canopy strengthen the visual connection with the courtyard, while the depth of the structure provides substantial shade.

The entrance takes a more understated form, with a smaller timber structure framed by stone masonry surfaces. This gives it a clear identity without competing with the main terrace. In the surrounding landscape, irregular paving slabs trace gentle paths across the lawn, while small trees and restrained planting preserve open views towards the residence. The solidity of stone from Stenari, Kavala, together with citron tones and brickwork, is balanced by the warmth of timber, creating an architectural expression that feels familiar, earthy, and attuned to everyday outdoor living.
