Asymmetry Symmetry

The triangular floor plan of this full-floor apartment became the starting point for an interior design that embraces its diagonal lines rather than concealing them. The layout follows the geometry of the building envelope, creating a flexible area for everyday living and a more clearly defined zone of private rooms.

Within the shared living area, the lounge, dining room, and kitchen remain in direct visual contact. The linear kitchen layout frees up the central space, while the dining area sits beside the large openings, taking advantage of natural light and views. The lounge continues the same spatial arrangement, with a corner sofa following the floor plan’s geometry and the television installation providing a fixed focal point. Dark marble cladding, combined with vertical timber details, adds depth without overwhelming the space.

The palette balances warm timber surfaces, soft earthy tones, and anthracite accents. Timber flooring provides a continuous foundation, connecting the different functions and reinforcing continuity throughout the home. Lighting fixtures take on a sculptural quality, with the timber fittings in the living room creating rhythm and warm pools of light.

In the bedroom, an open storage system makes full use of the available height and clearly organises different categories of clothing. Slim dark frames around the central doors add precision to the composition, while botanical wall decoration introduces a softer, more personal character.

Particular attention is given to the children’s room, where vertically arranged beds free up more floor space for movement and play. Curved forms, small circular openings, and green surfaces transform a practical solution into an imaginative, sheltered environment.

Despite the demanding geometry of the floor plan, the interior maintains clear circulation, visual coherence, and comfort. The diagonal lines become a design tool, giving the apartment its own distinctive spatial identity.
